The Company Name

The Company name was inspired and influenced by the history books of medieval times discussing“the Knights” who went by “the Knights Code of Chivalry” and the Griffins which symbolized the protectors of the divine.

THE GRIFFIN:

In the ancient and medieval legends the griffin has been portrayed to be especially powerful and majestic creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. The lion was traditionally considered as the king of the beasts and the eagle was king of birds. Although Griffin’s significance is obscure, it is often thought to have been protective symbol, representing strength and vigilance – guarding treasure and well valued procession.

THE KNIGHTS:

In medieval ages, the knight was expected to have not only the strength and skills to face combat but was also expected to temper this aggressive side of a knight with a chivalrous side to his nature. Each knight obeyed the Knights Code of Chivalry. A Code of Chivalry was documented in ‘The Song of Roland’ in the Middle Ages Knights period of William the Conqueror who ruled England from 1066.

The Knights Codes of Chivalry described in the Song of Roland were:

  • To fear God and maintain His Church
  • To serve the liege lord in courage and faith
  • To protect the weak and defenseless
  • To give aid to widows and orphans
